The EU Anti Trafficking Day was launched on 18 October by the conference “Trafficking in Human Beings: Time for Action”. This meeting was based on the work of the European Commission’s Expert Group on Trafficking in Human Beings, and presented a Manual for measuring state responses to trafficking in human beings in the EU as well as a draft set of Recommendations on the identification and referral to services of trafficking victims. EWL highlighted the lack of gender dimension in the approach by the Expert Group. EWL was afterwards invited to comment on the Recommendations. Please click here to read the EWL comments.
