Nordic Baltic Network - support to women victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation

Swedish public authorities estimate that somewhere between 400 and 600 women who are victims of trafficking comes to Sweden every year. Most of them are from the Baltic countries, Eastern Europe and Russia. Sweden is first and foremost a transit point, with trafficked victims heading towards suspected destination countries of Denmark, Germany, Norway, Spain, and the United Kingdom. There is also trafficking of women to Swedish border towns, where women are being sexually exploited before they are sent back to their country of origin.
